Iowa star Caitlin Clark is universally expected to be the No. 1 pick in next month’s WNBA draft, but she has another offer on the table that could line her pockets.
BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube confirmed on Wednesday that the three-on-three league made a “historic” $5 million offer to Caitlin Clark to come and grace their court.
“We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship. But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark,” Ice Cube wrote on X. “Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”
Clark has said nothing publicly since the team is fighting for a National Championship in the women’s NCAA Tournament.
However, she has reportedly been speaking with her head coach.
Speaking to the media this Friday before their game, Iowa basketball coach Lisa Bluder said Clark told her about her invitation to Team USA’s training camp in April but did not really say much about the offer from Ice Cube and the BIG3.

“The other stuff, that’s just crazy,” Bluder said regarding the BIG3.
TMZ reported that the BIG3’s offer to Caitlyn Clark was for her to play in just eight regular-season games and two possible playoff games, which earns she would make $5 million for just 10 appearances. That is way more than she could ever make with the WNBA.

Yearly player salaries don’t typically rise above $300K in the WNBA so netting $5 million would be an incredible amount of money for her.
Caitlin Clark Could Be Generational Player That Changes Everything For The WNBA
With the 2024 WNBA Draft coming just eight days after the women’s tournament concludes, many fans are getting quite excited about what Caitlin Clark could bring to the league.
Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark has been billed as a generational player and quite possibly the female Stephen Curry.
If she turns out to be that type of layer, it spells nothing but good things for a league that experienced a growth in attendance and ratings last year. Those things will only get better once Clark gets there.
