Henry Blackburn was relatively unknown before Saturday’s game, but now his name rings bells after the hit he delivered to Travis Hunter.
The University of Colorado rallied for the win over Colorado State on Saturday night but lost two-way star Travis Hunter when he was taken to a hospital for an evaluation during the third quarter at Folsom Field.
Coach Deion Sanders had no update after the game other than to say, the “first thing I heard is he’s going to be out a few weeks.”
After CSU safety Henry Blackburn took a cheap shot on Buffaloes star Travis Hunter, many thought he should be suspended.

It was a late hit, one that earned Blackburn the indignity of a 15-yard penalty but that doesn’t seem to be enough.
Hunter had played almost every snap for the Buffs this season, playing wide receiver on offense and cornerback on defense. Colorado played without a top wide receiver and defensive back for the rest of the game and now he will be out for a few weeks.
“But we’re going to do what we’ve got do to take care of him,” Sanders said. “So, I know Travis like a book, he probably is going to want to be out for two weeks, but we’ve got to make sure his health is more important than this game.”
Hunter had been mentioned as a Heisman Trophy contender after his performance in the first two games of the season.
Colorado managed to win without him. Shedeur Sanders led the team on a 98-yard touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter to tie the game and then threw two touchdown passes in overtime.
