Nathan Patterson went to a Rockies game last month and had n idea it would change his life forever.
The 23-year-old decided to step up to the radar gun set up on the Coors Field concourse and threw a few pitches, one of which hit 96 MPH on the radar gun. Patterson’s brother, Christian, filmed the display and the footage went viral.
Fast forward two weeks and Patterson, who hasn’t played competitive baseball since high school, landed a contract with the Oakland Athletics.

Patterson told MLB.com that he first started thinking about realizing his dream when he went to a Nashville Sounds game last summer and topped out at 96 on the gun.
This is just all-around awesome. Hopefully he makes it to the show.
