Ohio State nearly pulled off the Cinderella story during last night’s College Football Playoff semifinal against the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs, but then the clock struck zero…Literally!
The Buckeyes were leading Georgia by 13 ate in the game, but they would surrender two late touchdowns, giving the defending champs a 42-41 lead with just under a minute to go.
Ohio State still had a chance to win it, however, as they drove down the field and set themselves up for a 50-yard game-winning field-goal attempt. But just as the clock stuck zero to signal the start of a new year on the East coast, the Buckeye’s kick sailed wide.
It’s amazing that the two events synced up to happen at exactly the same time. It likely had many people who wanted to watch the game in a bind, as they had to choose between watching the New Years countdown and the game-winning field-goal attempt.
Or, you may have had a split screen going, like the one in the amazing sync’d up video below:
Congratulations, Georgia Bulldogs. And happy new year!
