Tragedy struck Athens, Georgia early Sunday morning, as a one-vehicle accident resulted in the deaths of Bulldogs offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting analyst Chandler LeCroy.
The pair had just celebrated back-to-back national titles at the team’s championship parade hours earlier, when LeCroy’s truck veered off the road and struck two power poles and several trees at roughly 2:45 am Sunday morning.
Chandler and Devin weren’t alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Reports have since indicated that they were accompanied by offensive lineman and 2023 NFL draft prospect Warren McClendon, and Bulldogs staff member Tory Bowles.
Fortunately, both of them are in stable condition as McClendon’s injuries were said to be minor while Bowles were more serious, according to ESPN.
McClendon had just declared for the 2023 NFL Draft earlier that day, following the Bulldogs’ championship parade. He’s expected to get taken within the first two days of the draft.
