The 2023 Georgia football season came to a close with the 27 to 24 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide and now the team cannot stop the losses from piling up in regards to the roster.
There have been plenty of surprising names to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal during the latest window.
On Tuesday evening, the Georgia Bulldogs got hit hard by yet another transfer when sophomore outside linebacker Marvin Jones Jr. entered the portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Jones is a sizable loss based on his production last year. As a sophomore, Jones played in 12 games and finished with 12 tackles. He did have 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack, which came in Georgia’s win over Georgia Tech.
A year earlier, Jones Jr. played in 13 games while totaling four tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack as a reserve.
Georgia signed Jones as a 5-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and was the No. 20 overall prospect in the class.

Jones becomes the third outside linebacker for Georgia to enter the portal. Darris Smith and CJ Madden had previously entered the portal. All three of those outside linebackers were signed in the 2022 signing class.
