Jalen Carter is in hot water with the law, as an arrest warrant has been issued in his name.
This comes at a pretty bad time for the former Georgia star, who is predicted to be a top-five selection in this year’s NFL Draft and is currently at the scouting combine.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department in Georgia put a warrant out for the defensive tackle on Wednesday following charges of reckless driving and racing regarding a crash in which two individuals, namely Chandler Louise LeCroy and Devin Willock, were killed on January 15.
Carter has since taken to Twitter with a statement claiming some of the information pertaining to his misdemeanor charges is “inaccurate.”
“This morning I received a telephone call from the Athens Georgia Police Department informing me that two misdemeanor warrants have been issued against me for reckless driving and racing,” he wrote. “Numerous media reports also have circulated this morning containing inaccurate information concerning the tragic events of January 15, 2023.
“It is my intention to return to Athens to answer the misdemeanor charges against me and to make certain that the complete and accurate truth is presented. There is no question in my mind that when all of the facts are known that I will be fully exonerated of any criminal wrongdoing.”

The crash, which took place around 2:45 AM on the morning of January 15, came in the wake of the Georgia Bulldogs national championship celebrations and is understood to have stemmed from a race between Carter and LeCroy.
LeCroy, a Georgia staff member, was killed after running off the road and hitting at least two utility poles and several trees while driving a 2021 Ford Expedition. Willock, a football player, was ejected from the vehicle as he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time.
