The Georgia Bulldogs are back in the spotlight, and not in a good way.
Two players from the program, linebacker Smael Mondon and offensive lineman Bo Hughley, were arrested for separate traffic-related offenses this week. The charges, which include reckless driving, stem from incidents on back-to-back nights.
University of Georgia police arrested Hughley on Tuesday night for reckless driving and failure to maintain lane/improper driving on a road. Mondon was booked for reckless driving and racing on highways/streets the following night.
According to CBS Sports, the pair of events have taken the program’s arrest numbers to a remarkable 20 since January 2023. Hughley and Mondon are the third and fourth Georgia players arrested on reckless driving charges since March.

Mondon was an important defensive player for the Bulldogs last season and is expected to be a starter in 2024. He registered 68 total tackles, three sacks, and two quarterback hurries to make the All-SEC team.
Hughley, meanwhile, joined the program last year as the No. 81 overall prospect and No. 10 offensive tackle in his class. He redshirted as a true freshman and missed most of the team’s spring practice schedule due to injury.
