Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis has made a heartbreaking announcement following the gruesome leg injury he sustained against North Alabama on Saturday.
Travis had gotten a first down for his team on a scramble before a tackle caused his leg to bend in an unnatural position. He was carted off the field and taken to a hospital immediately.
The QB remained in hospital over the weekend and has since announced that his career with FSU is over, taking to X to thank everyone for the support he’s been shown since.
“I have been overwhelmed by the support from my teammates, coaches, the Florida State community and those all around the world,” he wrote in a post on said platform. “Although the injury … marks the end of my Seminole playing career, the great memories created here at FSU will never fade.
“Being the quarterback here at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored and forever grateful. The journey this team set out on is not over yet as all of our goals still lie just ahead. I am excited to be by my brothers’ sides every day as we continue our attack. We’re all we got, we’re all we need. Job’s not finished. Go Noles!”
Travis transferred to FSU from Louisville in 2019 and earned the job as starting quarterback during the 2021 season, having considered quitting.

He’s helped the program become popular again, passing for 8,715 yards to rank second in school history and has the record for total offense with 10,679.
That his career has been cut short at this point in time is indeed devastating.
We wish Travis a speedy recovery and the very best.
