The Southern Miss running back was delivering punishment in his team’s victory over Rice in the LendingTree Bowl on Saturday night. In the 38-24 win, Gore set an all-time bowl record with 329 yards on just 21 carries.
His team needed every bit of his rushing as they took a 17-3 lead into halftime, however, Rice scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to get back into it.
Gore Jr. capped off his record-setting night with an electrifying 56-yard touchdown to ice the game against the Owls.
Southern Miss would score the game’s final 21 points.
