Caleb Williams is easily the biggest transfer that is in the portal who is looking for a new program to take his talents to.
Williams, a five-star recruit who starred for the Sooners in 2021 as a true freshman, announced Monday that he will put his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Williams said remaining at Oklahoma is an option but he also plans to communicate with other schools.
Soon after Williams officially put his name in the portal, former Eastern Michigan quarterback Charlie Batch wrote to him on Twitter to try and convince him to to the program. In that message was Batch claiming that GameAbove Capital would be prepared to offer him an NIL deal worth $1 million dollars over just one year to join the Mid-American Conference program.
“Hey @CALEBcsw, have you considered Eastern Michigan, @EMUFB? If not, you SHOULD,” Batch wrote in his tweet. “GameAbove Capital is prepared to pay you ONE MILLION DOLLARS for one year! Are you ready be an EAGLE?”
Batch, who spent 15 years as an NFL quarterback, joined CapStone Holdings in late December as the company’s Senior VP of Strategic Investments.
Williams is coming off a true freshman season in which he passed for 1,916 yards and 22 touchdowns.

“I think we all come to college to find our own path and prepare for the future. I came to Oklahoma with a game plan, but with all of the recent changes, I need to figure out what is the right path for me moving forward,” Williams said. “According to NCAA rules, as a student-athlete, the only way I can speak with other schools and see who may offer the best preparation and development for my future career is by entering the portal. Staying at OU will definitely be an option as I begin this process.”
Williams cited “recent changes” at Oklahoma as the reason for his decision.
Following Lincoln Riley’s departure, Oklahoma hired former Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables as its new head coach.
