This is absolutely tragic and unfortunate.
On the fourth of July, there was a shooting that took the life of a former member of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
DerJuan Gambrell, who briefly played under Urban Meyer, reportedly got into a verbal argument on Thursday and was shot in the stomach when the confrontation turned physical.
According to WTOL, a suspect has been arrested and is being charged with murder. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
After red-shirting the 2011 season, Gambrell was dismissed from the team in January 2012 after being arrested for an incident at an Ohio State dormitory.
Gambrell was a highly-regarded three-star safety prospect coming out of high school in 2011.
