Danny Kanell’s criticism of Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach Deion Sanders on X (formerly known as Twitter) came back to bite him, thanks to the awareness of the @RedditCFB account.
Kanell is now a well-known sports media analyst. He was previously a quarterback in the NFL from 1996 to 2000 and from 2003 to ’04, playing with the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos.
During the Buffaloes’ home game against Colorado State, Kanell poked fun at Sanders and praised Rams’ head coach Jay Norvell.
There’s a funny story behind this, however. As noted by @RedditCFB on X, Sanders had a pick-six off of Kanell in a 1998 game against the Giants. That interception all but ended Kanell’s days as a starting QB in the pros:
