A quarterback who played for the University of Georgia, as well as the University of Southern California, has announced his retirement.
JT Daniels is leaving the game on the advice of his doctors after playing six college seasons as a result of his receiving multiple concussions over the course of his career.
The QB transferred from USC to Georgia in 2020 and started even games for the reigning National Championships in two years. He played a major role in their win over Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl in his first season.
Nagging injuries saw him replaced by Stetson Bennett before he transferred to West Virginia after the 2021 season to play 10 games. He entered the transfer portal yet again ahead of this season, joining Rice.
Daniels ends his career with 9,390 passing yards and 66 touchdowns. He’s now planning to become a football coach.
