Back in 2022, Virginia Cavaliers football players Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr., and D’Sean Perry were tragically and senselessly shot to death at the University of Virginia, and students Mike Hollins and Marlee Morgan were wounded.
Former student Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. was arrested as the suspect.
It took just about two years, and now the former student has pleaded guilty to 10 counts in connection to the shooting.
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, and five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
His killings of the Virginia Cavaliers football players now have him facing a maximum punishment of five life terms plus 23 years, per ESPN.
His plea agreement did not include a sentencing agreement. A four-day sentencing hearing is scheduled to begin on February 4th.
It was reported that Jones suddenly opened fire on a charter bus in November 2022 as he and other students arrived back on campus after seeing a play and having dinner together in Washington, D.C.

The former UVA student who fatally shot three football players and hurt two others in November 2022 took a plea deal.
Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including first-degree murder, and now he may face life in prison.
Jones pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, and five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
