Last week, Jeff Klein, who played for the Tigers between 1999-2001, was checked in to a Columbus, Ga. hospital after experiencing “severe back pain.” An MRI revealed “spots” on his lower back and his condition had gotten worse.
Unfortunately, Klein passed away, according to former Auburn teammate, Cole Cubelic.
“We lost a good one today,” his former teammate Cole Cubelic said on Wednesday afternoon. “It was an honor to play in front of you, a privilege to be your friend, And a joy to watch the husband, father & coach you had become. Rest easy 9. Your boys will know your legacy. We love you. War Eagle!”
Cubelic reminded his followers Wednesday that Klein’s wife and children still need help, asking for assistance from those who are able to donate.
Klein was a member of the Auburn football team from 1998-to-2001. Over 3 seasons (1999-2001), he played in 13 games, throwing for 1,139 yards and 7 touchdowns.
