Alvin Shadow Creek beat Denton Ryan 28-22 in the Class 5A Division I state championship Friday and it featured a game full of crazy plays.
None were more spectacular than Denton Ryan’s first score in the first quarter where they used a trick play on the kickoff that completely consfused Shdow Creek to get Tra Smith the ball, who would then return it 97 yards for the touchdown.
Drew Sanders would punch in the two-point conversion after the score to give Ryan a 8-7 lead.
As we stated before, Shadow creek would make enough plays and have luck on their side on this night to win the game.
