A Texas high school football player charged onto the field and ran over a referee Thursday night because he was angry after being ejected from the game.
Senior defensive lineman Emmanuel Duron of Edinburg High School could be seen running full speed after referee Fred Gracia announced the ejection, slamming into the official during the first half play-in game against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo.
Duron was escorted from the stadium by police officers.
His daughter would soon take to Twitter and speak out against the 18-year-old.
“That referee that was assaulted by a football player on the field tonight is my father. I am absolutely disgusted at the action of that kid and I hope he’s never allowed to step on the field and play a sport ever again.”

“Y’all, I’ve had some time to reflect on what I said yesterday. I know it may have come off as harsh to some. It’s tough in the heat of the moment. Prayers and good vibes for everyone at this time. We could all use a little bit more positivity this year.”
Edinburg High School has since been removed from the playoffs, and Duron has been arrested and charged with assault.
