Notre Dame Fighting Irish safety Peyton Bowen has responded to rumors that some schools submitted him seven-figure offers.
There’s a rumor going around that the Oregon Ducks and Oklahoma Sooners gave Bowen NIL (name, image, likeness) offers worth more than $2 million.
But the five-star recruit and standout safety took to Twitter to pour cold water over this speculation. Bowen stated that the rumors are “untrue”, and that he simply chose the program that he thought best suited him.

Before the NCAA made the rules, there were several well-documented cases of players and teams receiving improper benefits which prompted the NCAA to strip them of awards and/or championships.
Bowen attends John H. Guyer High School in Denton, Texas. He’ll be joining a Notre Dame team that has developed a handful of defensive backs who’ve gone on to enjoy solid careers in the NFL.

Losing Hamilton was a big blow to the Notre Dame defense, but the team has won eight of its first 12 games here in 2022. The Fighting Irish will try to end their season on a high note when they meet South Carolina in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 30. The game will be played at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ home venue of TIAA Bank Field.
