ESPN and the sports world in general is still trying to figure out how ESPN got duped by an unknown high school that got them on National TV and absolutely blown out 58-0 by IMG Academy.
On Wednesday, former ESPN president John Skipper was on the “Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” to share his thoughts on this possibly could’ve happened.
“Actually, I think this happens just because of the volume of games they put on at ESPN,” Skipper explained. “There’s a hierarchy of what people pay attention to. This game falls pretty far down in the hierarchy, falls far enough down that they let someone else do the game and produce the game for them, and somebody didn’t pay attention.”
From there, he decided to use an insane analogy about dog pooping to bring his point across.
“This is like expecting the Walmart CEO to know that some dog has shit in aisle 13 of the Fayetteville, Arkansas store,” Skipper said. “You can’t know everything.”
If there is a silver lining in this situation, it’s that this story is going to make a fire 30 for 30 documentary 10 years from now.
