ESPN is finally responding to the embarrasing situation that played out this weekend.
On Sunday, IMG Academy (Florida) played Bishop Sycamore (Ohio) in a nationally-televised game on ESPN and it was a 58-0 blowout. It was so bad that that broadcasters were blasting their own network on hwo this could’ve happened.
Bishop Sycamore duped ESPN into thinking they were a legitimate high school football program with several top recruits. They had none in the top-50 for the entire state of Ohio.
“Bishop Sycamore told us they had a number of Division I prospects on their roster,” ESPN announcer Anish Shroff said. “To be frank, a lot of that we could not verify.”
ESPN’s statement:
“We regret that this happened and have discussed it with Paragon, which secured the matchup and handles the majority of our high school event scheduling. They have ensured us that they will take steps to prevent this kind of situation from happening moving forward,” ESPN’s statement reads.

Bishop Sycamore went 0-6 last season and were outscored 227-42 and nobody at ESPN even bothered to Google them.
