Former USC long snapper Jake Olson took to Instagram this week to make a heartbreaking announcement.
Olson, who is blind, lost his service dog Quebec this week after they spent 13 years together.
Having written a lengthy post in which he described Quebec as his “bestest friend,” Olsen shared his terrible loss with his followers.
“A bond was broken today that defies words,” he lamented as part of a post showing the loyal service dog running ahead of him on a football field. “A part of me died today along with the loss of my bestest friend I could have ever ask for. But apart of Quebec will always live on in my heart and life, along with all the lives he was able to touch.
“In our 13 years together, Q graduated high school with me, college with me, traveled to 28 states with me, met a US president, played in the Coliseum, ran on countless golf courses, and celebrated the best of times with me while enduring heartbreak with me.
“… Even though he is no longer physically with me, I once heard that, ‘If you’re lucky enough to have known a great one, they never really leave. They stay with you as long as you live, Harness to your heart, giving their all.’ And Q was that! To the true GOAT. You will always be loved and remembered. I love you so so so so much pup.”

Jake Olson And Quebec Were Inseparable
Jake Olson lost his eyesight through cancer but hardly let that stop him from playing football. Following his stint at USC, he signed with the Montreal Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL.
Quebec was quite popular among fans, and many of them got to meet him at USC games.
Olson even has a tattoo of his paw on his chest.
It’s clear the two had a very strong bond, and Olson must have found his death hard to accept after being inseparable for well over a decade.
R.I.P Quebec.
