This is just as frightening as you thought it would be.
Florida basketball player Keyontae Johnson has been upgraded from critical to stable condition and is breathing on his own as his parents provided the update that the school shared on Tuesday.
A few days ago, the 6-foot-5 forward suddenly collapsed to the floor against Florida State. Footage of that moment has been released and it is frightening.
Johnson, who was named SEC Preseason Player of the Year, averaged 14 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game as an All-SEC player last season as a sophomore. He’s considered an NBA prospect.
It’s unclear what caused Johnson to collapse. A diagnosis has not been released.
