Oregon must have been feeling pretty pleased with themselves after a huge signing day on Wednesday. But they must be very annoyed now.
Five-star recruit Peyton Bowen created quite a stir when he chose the Ducks over Notre Dame. The way in which he did it was different too, as he pretended to put on the Fighting Irish’s hat before switching and putting on Oregon’s.
His mother, who was sitting right next to him, didn’t look best pleased as she was completely blindsided by her son’s decision.
Another Change Of Heart
As of Thursday, Bowen is reported as having changed his mind yet again. The youngster now appears to be headed to Oklahoma, per Nick Harris. But who knows for sure now, given the way he seems to change his mind on a dime? He might even switch to another sport by the time this is over.
As you would imagine, this must suck for Oregon. The program was likely celebrating its big recruitment day and now has to deal with the news of Peyton changing his mind.

The reason for the U-turn is unknown but it could be because the Sooners offered him a better deal than the Ducks. Such moves would show the impact NIL is having on college sports.
Of course, his mother might have had something to do with it.
It’s not all bad, though, the Ducks still snagged commitments from Austin Novosad, one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in the country, while five-star defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei remains on board.
Still a proper recruiting class, right?
