This is one sure fire way to make sure you never realize your dream of making it to the NFL.
A few days ago, former TCU star football player KaVontae Turpin plead guilty to assaulting his girlfriend as part of his plea agreement.
Turpin went undrafted this past weekend and likely might not ever get that shot in the league.
Turpin faced a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an arrest last October where he allegedly “dragged” and “slammed” his girlfriend, Raiesha Atwater, in an apartment complex parking lot, according to the Star Telegram.
Witnesses told police that they saw Turpin drag his girlfriend across a parking lot as she resisted and screamed for them to call 911.
“While KaVontae Turpin may have been a star on the football field, his actions here are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” prosecutor Lloyd Whelchel said in a statement. “Turpin was held accountable for his conduct, and will have the next two years to reflect on what he has done.”

Turpin apologized for the assault charge in a statement issued through his attorney:
“On October 20th, 2018 I grabbed and pulled Ms. Atwater and I understand she felt pain as a result,” Turpin said. “For this, I am truly sorry. However, I did not strike her with my hand. I accept full responsibility for my actions and I am dedicated to being accountable to Ms. Atwater and this Court going forward.”
Turpin also faced a different domestic violence domestic violence charge against the same young woman from March 2018. That charge was dismissed earlier this month, as Turpin pleaded down to a disorderly conduct charge.
Turpin ended his career with four punt returns for touchdowns and two kick returns for touchdowns. As a receiver, he finished his college career with 145 catches for 1748 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns (two rushing).
