On Saturday, ESPN’s “College GameDay will be in Atlanta, Georgia, in anticipation of the SEC Championship Game between Georgia and Texas. However, long-time host Lee Corso will not be in attendance.
Of course, though, if you are an avid pre-game show watcher, you’d know this is nothing new. Corso missed a handful of shows this week because of multiple health concerns, which was no different.
“Our good friend Lee Corso had a minor procedure this week,” Reece Davis said. “He’s doing great. We look forward to getting Lee back here in the postseason. I know he’s watching right now and he’ll be with us throughout the day.”

“For the sake of Lee Corso, move on and allow him to enjoy his health, family! It’s time @CollegeGameDay to encourage Lee to retire,” a social media user said.
“We all love Corso. But he needs to announce next season is his last with the show. It’s time,” a fan concluded.

Of course, Corso is now 89, and it’s hard to imagine anyone can have a “minor” procedure at that age.
Lee Corso Has Been With “College GameDay” Since the 80’s
His first season with “College GameDay” came back in 1987. His spot on the show is where most people have gotten to know the legend of Corso.
However, after 37 years of doing the same thing, it appears that Father Time has caught up just like athletes, and the end is nearing.
It’s also worth noting that fans have been calling for Corso to retire all season, as his health seems to deteriorate weekly.
