College football fans were all making the same joke while watching the Michigan Wolverines get hammered by the Texas Longhorns.
The programs lined up against each other this Saturday after both qualifying for the College Football Playoff last season, with Michigan going all the way. But the Wolverines looked nothing like the team that won the national title earlier this year.
The Longhorns were leading 31-6 in the third quarter at the time of writing. Michigan hadn’t scored a single touchdown up to that point.
The team is hardly the same. Head coach Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL and is about to write a new story with the Los Angeles Chargers, while quarterback J.J. McCarthy is also in the pros, having gotten drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round earlier this year. Star running back Blake Corum was a second-round pick for the Los Angeles Rams.

Still, social media has attributed their plunge to Connor Stalions’ absence. The former assistant resigned last year amid the NCAA’s sign-stealing investigation and just suffered a humiliating loss himself as his high school team was defeated 60-0 this weekend.
“Connor Stalions if you’re listening please save us,” someone begged.
“You need Connor Stalions back. Agreed,” a fan added.

“They need to get Connor Stalions back asap,” another person suggested.
“Michigan is nothing without Connor Stallions😂,” a user observed.
“Connor Stalions stock today 📈📈📈📈,” someone else wrote.
“You actually miss Connor stallions. Can’t steal signs or cheat anymore. Right now you guys are showing true colors,” one comment read.

Michigan Wolverines quarterback Davis Warren was having a stinker, throwing a pair of interceptions while throwing for zero scores and 73 yards on 9/16 passing.
It looks like it might be a long season in Ann Arbor.
