ESPN’s Molly McGrath received a lot of backlash for her report on Saturday following the ejection of a North Carolina State player.
North Carolina State offensive lineman Anthony Belton got an early shower after refs tossed him from the game for spitting on a Clemson player during the first half of Saturday’s college football game in South Carolina.
Molly McGrath decided to state his actions were warranted over a false claim that did not happen.
McGrath justified his behavior by stating he was retaliating for an incident that never went down.
North Carolina State quarterback C.J. Bailey was sacked and got caught in a scrum.
Down 42-7 at the time, the Wolfpack were already unhappy with the game’s progress when Anthony Belton became enraged at Tigers defensive tackle Tré Williams and spat at him.
He was flagged and thrown out.

McGrath would state that a Clemson player stomped on Bailey’s head just moments before Belton spit on Williams, but replays showed that was never true.
She got blasted for her words.
Losing A Player To An Ejection Did not Effect The North Carolina State Wolfpack From Getting Blown Out
North Carolina State Wolfpack had no shot on Saturday in their game against the Clemson Tigers.
In that game, the team would lose N.C. State left tackle Anthony Belton who was ejected Saturday for spitting on a Clemson defender right before halftime.
The moment came after the Tigers had sacked Wolfpack quarterback CJ Bailey. In the middle of the scrum, an official threw a flag well after the whistle and Belton’s ejection for unsportmanlike conduct was announced.
In the end, his ejection did not matter, as the team lost 35 to 59 on the road, dropping their record to 2-2 on the year.
