Sideline reporting can be a pretty tough and thankless job a times.
ESPN sideline reporter Molly McGrath knows that all too well.
She could be seen sprinting to catch up with a coach or player postgame all while trying to avoid a celebratory Gatorade bath while interviewing a player or coach.
Although she absolutely loves her job, she is admitting this week that this season has been the most difficult one of her career. However, it has also been rewarding for her.
She added that her traveling schedule makes it hard to balance her home life with her children but she would not trade it for the world.
McGrath was in the headlines last month as one of many past and present reporters who took issue with Charissa Thompson who admitted to making up sideline reports during games in the past. Thompson attempted to justify her actions which made it worse before she ultimately issued an apology.

McGrath, a longtime fixture on the sidelines of ESPN’s college football and basketball broadcasts, made sure to send her a message as well as to younger reporters.
“Young reporters: This is not normal or ethical,” McGrath wrote. “Coaches and players trust us with sensitive information, and if they know that you’re dishonest and don’t take your role seriously, you’ve lost all trust and credibility.”
The Thursday Night Football may have faced backlash from her peers but it has not impacted her job in any way since she made those comments.
McGrath will be back on air for the College Football Playoff which kicks off on New Year’s Day.
