Deion Sanders will oversee his first few games as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes in September, having taken over the program late last year after a stint at Jackson State.
While Colorado is raking in dividends and should have all of their games sold out, Sanders isn’t expected to have a huge impact on their fortunes, at least that’s how ESPN sees it.
The Buffaloes will play Nebraska in their second game of the season in what’s a highly-anticipated matchup given that the teams combined for five wins last year and have both brought in high-profile coaches, with the Cornhuskers appointing Matt Rhule.
Sanders will make his home debut against Rhule and the Cornhuskers, and ESPN gives them a 28.4 win probability, with Nebraska thought to have a much better shot at 71.6.
Where betting is concerned, the early spread has Nebraska as a nine-point favorite.
In spite of this, the aforementioned 28.4 win probability looks pretty good when compared to the 5.4 shot they’ve been given to beat TCU in their first game of the season. The Horned Frogs went all the way to the CFP finals last year, ultimately bowing out to Georgia. And ESPN has them at a strong 94.6.

The Worldwide Leader In Sports favors the Buffaloes in their third game of the season, which is against Colorado State University, handing them a 66.3 win probability.
Sanders will have his work cut out for him as the new Buffaloes head coach and has admitted that he walked into a messy situation. It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how he fares.
