ESPN suffered a bit of an embarrassing moment on Thursday night as they had to rush to cut their feed off during their broadcast of the football game between James Madison and Marshall.
The Dukes have moved to 7-0 for the season after a 20-9 win over the Thundering Herd, with the latter now 4-3, and are continuing their impressive form.
Fans who were watching on television may have noticed that the broadcast cut off for a bit. It would have been easy to blame technical difficulties, but the blip was intentional as the cameras had panned to a Marshall fan wearing a shirt bearing the words: “Game F in Day.”
The network quickly cut the feed before switching back to the action on the field, though they weren’t quick enough. Check it out below:
The fan would have left the grounds disappointed as Marshall ended up on the losing end.
Meanwhile, Madison’s 7-0 start does not make them eligible for a bowl because former FCS sides are eligible for playoff involvement during their first two years in the FBS. The Dukes are currently in their second FBS campaign and should make the playoffs next year as long as they stay true to form.
