ESPN has made a big change to the draft projection of USC freshman guard Bronny James, the son of LeBron James.
It was long thought that Bronny James would head to the NBA as soon as possible, especially with a chance to play with his father.
Bronny James is no longer listed on ESPN’s 2024 NBA Mock Draft.
Bronny could opt to leave USC after one season and try his luck in the 2024 NBA Draft. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, however, seems to believe that LeBron’s son will be back with the Trojans next season.
ESPN is now projecting him to be selected in 2025.
James missed the first part of his freshman season after a cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect. He wouldn’t make his debut until December 10th. He has since appeared in 19 games for the Trojans.

In those games, James is averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 20.2 minutes per game. He’s shooting just 37.5% from the field to this point, including only 27.5% from three.
His future has been tied to his father, LeBron James, for some time now with it being known that they’d like to team up somewhere in the league.
It might be to his benefit to stay another year in the collegiate ranks in order to continue his growth and be truly ready to take on his career in the league.
