It appears ESPN’s Ryan Clark had stumbled upon some information hitherto unknown to the rest of the college football world.
The analyst took to X on Monday morning to suggest that Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward is headed to Ohio State. His post came in response to Dallas Cowboys writer Clarence Hill following the news of Kyle McCord entering the transfer portal.
“Wash State QB transferred there,” he wrote, implying that the Buckeyes have already landed a replacement for McCord. However, he has since deleted the tweet.
On3 rates Ward as the No. 1 player in the portal and he would likely be a hit with Ohio State.
The player has started for the Cougars for two years and has been linked to the Buckeyes in recent times, though there’s nothing official on his decision as yet.
Maybe Clark has jumped the gun on this, but time will tell. In any case, it’s going to be a really interesting period for the Buckeyes given that one of the top college football programs is changing QBs ahead of the 2024 season.
