The LSU Tigers were already in hot water, but it got even hotter this week when three women came forward in an amended Title IX lawsuit against the program that they mishandled sexual misconduct allegations.
The amended lawsuit added coach Ed Orgeron as failing to report a rape allegation.
“The lawsuit alleges Ed Orgeron was told by a former LSU football player that Derrius Guice raped his girlfriend, Ashlyn Robertson, and Orgeron did not report it,” says LSU Beat writer Brody Miller.
USA TODAY’s report detailed that encounter and said the recruit ended up signing and redshirting his freshman year to avoid Guice.
“(Orgeron) said, ‘Everybody’s girlfriend sleeps with other people,’ ” the former player told USA TODAY.

“The anonymous quote attributed to me by a former player in USA Today is not accurate,” Orgeron says in his released statement. “Out of respect for the young man’s privacy, I will not reveal the full details of the conversation. What I will say is that a player came into my office to discuss transferring from our program. We also discussed the player’s relationship challenges with his girlfriend. I told him what I would tell my own sons: ‘We all experience heartbreak growing up. Do not throw away a promising academic and football career at LSU because of a personal obstacle.’ Any insinuation that I had knowledge of his girlfriend and Derrius Guice is completely false.”
Back in March, a 74-year-old woman told state lawmakers that she spoke directly to LSU football coach Ed Orgeron about sexual harassment she said she endured in 2017 from Guice.
Gloria Scott, a security worker at the Superdome in New Orleans, said then-LSU player Derrius Guice walked up to her with his friends at an event and told her: “I like having sex with older women like you” and “I want your body,” among other vulgarities while rubbing his body.
“I have never felt so embarrassed,” Scott, who is a grandmother, told lawmakers.
Orgeron denied ever speaking with Scott.
