Fans have been waiting for a new college football video game for nearly 10 years now. And, with EA Sports College Football confirmed for a return, they really going to be pleased with this latest bit.
A new iteration of what’s been a favorite sports title is set to make a comeback in the summer of 2024 and, given that NIL is now a thing, the game will also feature player names and likenesses. So college players will have the option of allowing their name, image, and likeness to be included in the upcoming game in exchange for payment.
According to a report from ESPN, publishers EA Sports have teamed up with OneTeam Partners so they could “facilitate collegiate athletes’ names and likenesses” into the inbound title. The publication is also reporting that over 120 FPS programs have so far committed to participate, as well as all 10 FBS conferences and the CFP.
There are some big-name colleges, such as Notre Dame, that have not committed.
All of this is still in the planning stage, so an exact payment structure is yet to be determined. While there are still many details to work out, EA Sports College Football is not all that distant and, when it does get here, it will offer that realism players were hoping to experience.
Having to download rosters or manually adding players to your NCAA Football game will well and truly be a thing of the past.
