Fans were not happy with video game publisher EA Sports while the National Championship game between Michigan and Washington was being played out on Monday night.
Rumors of the company dropping the trailer for its upcoming college football title surfaced in the buildup to the contest, getting fans all worked up. The wait for such a game has gone on for nearly a decade, so folks could be forgiven for being a bit impatient.
EA has disclosed that the game will launch in 2024, but no other specifics are known at this point. The rumor had fans anticipating a release date and possibly a bit of gameplay as many of them remained glued to their televisions during halftime. Unfortunately, no trailer dropped.
Of course, EA can’t be blamed for this. The Extra Points newsletter’s Matt Brown has done lots of coverage on the game’s development and could be considered an insider. He warned that fans should not expect a trailer, though the possibility of a news tidbit wasn’t too much to hope for.
