The Washington Huskies are one win away from winning their first college football national title since 1991, and they just received a crucial update before Monday’s big game.
After sustaining an injury during their semi-final victory over Texas, Huskies running back Dillon Johnson’s status heading into their game against Michigan was very-much up in the air. Washington will need their star running back if they want to take down the nation’s number one team, and the latest report suggests they’ll have him in their lineup.
According to Johnson himself, he doesn’t believe he’ll be 100 percent recovered from his leg injury by Monday, but he did say that he will be out there on the field, ready to help his team in any way that he can.
“I’ll be ready to rock and roll and give whatever my team needs. I’ll be ready to do it,” he told ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
While Johnson managed just 49 yards on 21 carries against Texas, he did account for two of the Huskies’ touchdowns during their 37-31 victory. And he had 1,162 yards and 16 touchdowns in 14 games throughout the season.
We’ll see how much more he can add to those totals on Monday.
