Deion Sanders is in recovery mode after having undergone successful surgery to remove blood clots in his legs.
The new Colorado head coach took to social media to clear the air on his health prior to the operation, allaying fears he might have a foot amputated while explaining that Friday’s procedure was supposed to increase blood flow in his left leg so another surgery could be done to correct a dislocation.
Sanders’ girlfriend Tracey Edmonds has since delivered an update on his condition.
“We are so grateful for the healing power of God and for all of our prayer Warriors,” she shared on Instagram. “It was a long, but successful day! He is resting and doing great tonight after his surgery! Thank you Lord! Thank you Fam! We love you!”

Friday’s surgery was the 10th foot-related operation Sanders has undergone since 2021. The 55-year-old had two of his left toes amputated two years ago and missed a few games while in charge of Jackson State due to medical complications.
Sanders has taken over a new program and is still putting in the work to get his team ready for the upcoming college season amid his personal struggles.
Get well soon, Coach Prime!
