Deion Sanders straight-up suggested that Travis Hunter would be named the Heisman Trophy winner at the end of the season after watching his star play a single half of football.
Coach Prime’s new-look Colorado Buffaloes stepped out against the TCU Horned Frogs for their opening game on Saturday, with both Deion and Travis making their debuts. The 20-year-old, who started at both cornerback and wide receiver, had a spectacular half as he received over 60 snaps both on offense and defense.
With the Buffaloes going into halftime with a surprising 17-14 lead, Sanders was interviewed briefly, declaring that the Heisman would be “chilling in his crib” had his son Shedeur not missed Hunter on two deep balls.
At the time of writing, with just over seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Hunter had 110 total snaps, making 10 catches for 107 yards. He also shut things down on his side of the field in defense, making one of the most impressive interceptions you’ll ever see in the second half.
