Despite coming up short against No. 8 USC, the Colorado Buffaloes made it known they are a team that is really close to doing something special.
Throughout much of the game, it was a blowout, but Sanders not only had the Colorado fans behind him, but also Tracey Edmonds, the longtime girlfriend of the Colorado Buffaloes head coach, was in attendance.
She basically stole the show on this day.
After the loss, Sanders went viral in the locker room as he spoke to his team following their comeback that came up just short. In a three-minute TikTok posted by his son, he told his team they had no reason to hang their heads after they refused to give up and made their comeback in the second half. He also highlighted how a game where they played a full 60 minutes like they did in the second half, and especially the fourth quarter, might’ve turned out differently.
“Now you understand where we are. You understand what could, and should, and would’ve done if we would’ve played the first half like we played the second. One play here and there. Keeping contain, doing your assignment. Keeping the quarterback in the pocket. Making the plays, making the blocks. Getting that extra yard. You understand what could’ve happened. So understand that taste in your mouth, that you don’t want it again. Because I know we have something special here. You’ve gotta be a fool if you can’t see what we building here. I’m proud of each and every one of you,” Sanders said.

The Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders almost pulled off an improbable comeback Saturday afternoon against the USC. Buffaloes rallied back from a 27-point deficit in the second half, coming up just short, falling by a final score of 48-41.
A large part of Colorado’s comeback attempt directly correlated with the play of starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
The Buffaloes star quarterback was sacked a lot, but he finished the game with 371 yards through the air, completing 30 of his 45 pass attempts with four touchdowns to just one interception. He also carried the ball 14 times for 50 yards with one touchdown. He rebounded nicely from last week’s showing against the Oregon Ducks.
Shedeur Sanders and the Buffaloes have another tough test ahead of them next Saturday as they will travel to Arizona to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The Sun Devils maybe 1-4, but they have given all but one of their opponents this season all they could handle.
