Deion Sanders has taken to social media to explain the reason he’s having surgery this week.
Earlier on Thursday, Pat McAfee and Adam “Pacman” Jones broke the news of the former NFL star being set for an operation to deal with blood clots in his groin. Jones noted that the surgery is scheduled for 6:00 AM on Friday morning.
Sanders has faced some medical complications in recent times and had to cancel an appearance last week.
Having allowed cameras into a meeting with his doctors and one of them pointing out that he could lose a foot, Sanders has also been bombarded with messages pertaining to the possibility of amputation.
But, speaking in an Instagram video posted on Thursday afternoon, he said that there’s been “no talk of amputation’” explaining that removal of his foot is the worst-case scenario and they’re nowhere close to that point.
Coach Prime also noted that the upcoming procedure is being undertaken in order to increase blood flow so he could have other surgeries to fix hammer toes and a dislocation.
