Colorado Buffaloes’ quarterback Shedeur Sanders may be draft eligible for 2024, but his father strongly indicated that No. 2 won’t be making the jump to the pros next year.
Shedeur is having a tremendous first year in Boulder under his father and head coach, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Through his first three games, Shedeur has a 78.7 completion percentage and 1,251 passing yards and 10 touchdowns against only one interception.
If he were to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft, Shedeur would be one of the most sought-after quarterback prospects. But in a video posted by Well Off Media (at the 4:31 mark), “Prime Time” indicated that both his sons will still be in Colorado next year.
“Shilo says ‘Oh wow Shedeur look, you’re gonna be in the NFL next year.’ I said ‘No he ain’t,'” Deion said. “Y’all ain’t going nowhere.”
Shedeur and Shilo both played under Sanders at Jackson State Tigers before the two decided to transfer over to Colorado to be with their father in Boulder. Under the leadership of the two-time Super Bowl Champion, Jackson State won back-to-back SWAC Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Shedeur is among the many highly-touted NCAA quarterback prospects who’s draft eligible for 2024, along with the likes of Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (North Carolina), Quinn Ewers (Texas) and J.J. McCarthy (Michigan).

The Buffaloes won just a single game in 2022, but they’ve already tripled last year’s win total with a perfect 3-0 start. They’ll try to improve to 4-0 on the season when the Buffaloes visit the No. 10 ranked Oregon Ducks this Saturday.
