Deion Sanders has shared his first social media post on the back of his team’s embarrassing loss this Friday.
The Colorado Buffaloes were just one half of football away from a 5-3 record as they were up 29-0 with two quarters left to play. But they somehow managed to lose to the Stanford Cardinal, who ended up forcing two overtimes and a 46-43 result.
Coach Prime was just as stunned as all of us were after the defeat and admitted having struggled to retain his composure in front of reporters. He has since taken to Instagram to lament the loss, also thanking fans for their support.
“This 1 hurt for so many reasons,” he wrote. “Regardless of u feel you’ve got to be consistent with who u are , what u are, why u are that and how u are. Consistency Wins in the end. I love all of @cubuffsfootball fans & supporters to Life and I appreciate the rest of y’all good or bad. God bless you all.”
The Buffs are heading into a bye week, during which they will hope to correct the mistakes that led to them blowing a 29-point lead to a previously 1-4 opponent.
They will need two wins from their remaining five games to qualify for a bowl game – and the task looks daunting given that they have to play UCLA, Oregon State, Washington State, and Utah, with Arizona the only unranked team of the bunch.
