Deion Sanders has responded to rumors claiming he could move up to the NFL at some point.
People close to Coach Prime insist the former pro cornerback has no interest in coaching in the league, but there are still folks out there who reckon a team will make a convincing enough offer that could get him to change his mind.
Sanders addressed the matter himself during an appearance on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ this Friday after Shannon Sharpe suggested he might have to follow his son Shedeur to the league once he gets drafted given that the quarterback hasn’t played for another coach all his life.
“I ain’t goin’ to the NFL,” Sanders said tersely. “I like it in Boulder.”
Sanders has always said that his heart lies in coaching kids and being a mentor; things would be very different if he were to move to the NFL.
Of course, you really never know in life. But, for now, Prime is enjoying life as a college coach and is doing big things in Colorado, having quickly changed the culture to a winning one since he took over the reins in December.
