Deion Sanders was waiting on something like this.
After admitting he lacked a reason to make Saturday’s game against Colorado State personal and praising their head coach Jay Norvell, Coach Prime has gotten just the thing he needs to light a fire under his team in the buildup to the in-state clash.
Norvell took an unprovoked shot at Sanders this Thursday, criticizing Prime’s attire with suggestions that he’s being disrespectful to reporters during his interviews.
“I sat down with ESPN today,” Norvell said. “I don’t care if they hear it in Boulder. I told them, I took my hat off and I took my glasses off. I said when I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me. (Colorado’s) not going to like us no matter what we say or do.”
It didn’t take the Colorado Buffaloes head coach long to catch wind of the critique and he didn’t take much time to offer a response either.
“I’m minding my own business, watching some film, I’m trying to get ready. I’m trying to get out there and be the best coach I can be, and then I look up and I read some bull junk that they done said about us,” he’s heard telling his team in the video below.

“It was just gonna be a good game, but they done messed around and made it … personal.”
Should Norvell get the version of the Buffs TCU and Nebraska got, it’s going to be a long Saturday for him and his Rams.
