Will Deion Sanders be leaving Jackson State? It certainly seems like he might have a new home.
The University of Colorado has offered Sanders its head coaching job, according to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. Sanders reportedly has some interest in the position, Feldman said.
“Colorado has offered Deion Sanders, from Jackson State, the job and I’m told he has legit interest in becoming the Buffaloes head coach,” Feldman said.
Sanders has turned Jackson State into an FCS powerhouse in just three seasons of him being there. The program was 4-8 before his hiring and now they have gone 26-5 since the COVID-shortened 2020 season, including 11-0 so far this season.
The Buffaloes are now hoping he can turn their program around and get them back to Power 5 prominence.
Colorado is 1-10 overall and 1-7 in the Pac-12 conference this season. Even worst than that is the program has had just one winning season in their last 17. That is just atrocious.

The once proud program played in the Orange Bowl in back-to-back seasons in 1989 and 1990, the later of which they earned a split national championship with Georgia Tech.
Sanders just may get them back where they want to be.
