Deion Sanders expertly skirted NCAA rules as he secured yet another top commit for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Sanders has experienced a mass player exodus since taking over the program at Colorado, but he insists it was always in the plans. While there have been multiple exits, several top-name recruits have also been added to the roster since Sanders’ arrival from Jackson State.
The former NFL cornerback got another huge commitment this week, with the 65th-ranked player in the 2024 class, wide receiver Aaron Butler, choosing the University of Colorado after fielding offers from programs such as Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, and Miami.
The commitment was announced via Sanders’ own Instagram Live, which could have landed Coach Prime in trouble as the NCAA does not allow coaches to discuss their prospects publicly before a player signs an official national letter of intent.
But Sanders was well aware as he left the frame at just the right moment. And although he did “jump and clap,” he did not break any NCAA rules.
Securing Butler was extra special for Deion as he was teammates with the receiver’s father, Robb-Davon Butler for some time.

“It’s kind of surreal, man, to be honest with you,” the 41-year-old said about his son gearing up to play for his former teammate.
A former defensive back with the San Diego Chargers, the senior Butler was on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad in 2005, with Sanders having come out of retirement to sign a one-year deal with the team.
