Deion Sanders and Colorado have lost two quarterback commitments in as many days as Danny O’Neil has joined Antwann Hill Jr. in de-committing, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The latter announced his decision to keep his options open this Sunday. And, just a day later, O’Neil is doing the same.
O’Neil, a 2024 recruit who verbally agreed to join the Buffaloes back in March, was very close to offensive coordinator Sean Lewis. It appears Sanders’ decision to take play-calling responsibilities off of him has changed things for the QB.
The player is ranked at No. 34 among quarterbacks by 247Sports.
Northwestern is reported to be in play for him on the back of his decision to de-commit, while Cincinnati, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Purdue, Syracuse, Toledo, and Wake Forest made him scholarship offers before he committed to Colorado.
“The landscape of college programs and coaches will be dramatically different by midweek,” his father Mike told 247Sports over the weekend.
