Colorado wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. had a roller coaster of emotions during their game against the Colorado State Rams
Jimmy Horn Jr. was not having a good game all night long as he dropped an important pass from Shedeur Sanders in the game.
Deion Sanders needed his young player confidence out there on the field, so he gave him the motivation to do just that. He hugged the wide receiver and made sure he was not too harsh on him.
He also reminded the talented wide receiver that his father was watching him from prison with the other inmates.
“We had an incident on the sideline this last game with Jimmy was having a horrific game. He’s a receiver. And I said, ‘Jimmy, you’re a dog. You from Florida, man. And guess what? Pop is at the crib, he’s incarcerated, he’s watching you right now. He wants to clap in front of all his different inmates because he believes in his son. We gonna make pops proud tonight. That’s what we going to do, because his son is a dog,” Sanders said during an interview with Taylor Rooks when asked what he told him shortly before the touchdown.”
Heading into the fourth quarter, it looked like Jay Norvell and his team would clinch the victory but quarterback Shedeur Sanders had something up his sleeves as he led a 98-yard drive at the end of regulation and capped it off with a two-point conversion to tie the Buffalos up with Colorado State. His 45-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Horn Jr. gave them the chance to tie the game and run off with a 43-35 win in double overtime.

Week 1 of the college football season was notable for Deion Sanders as Horn’s 11 receptions wound up being a career-high. After the victory over TCU, Sanders was told that Jimmy Horn’s dad was on the phone.
“Jimmy was getting on the plane and he said ‘Hey man, it’s perfect timing. My pops is on the phone,'” Sanders said.
“Coach Prime is a man of his word. My pops is a man of his word. That’s why it’s only right that I’m here,” Horn said.
Sanders was then given a chance to speak with Horn’s father on the plane and they shared their happiness about Horn’s performance.
“Coach Prime reminds me so much of my pops. And then when I heard them talk and my dad was really happy to talk to him — (it was great) because he’s still done everything he said he was going to do,” Horn said.
“(Sanders) is taking care of me, making sure I’m good mentally, physically and emotionally.”
Jimmy Horn has 26 catches to go along with 247 yards and two touchdowns on the year. He will need to be on top of his game as the team gets ready to face Oregon on the road.
