Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders has done enough to convince people of his ability as a quarterback, so much so, that he’s being tipped to be drafted in the first round next year.
However, his head coach and father Deion Sanders has hinted that he won’t be entering the 2024 NFL Draft. Shedeur does have one year of eligibility after the current season and, according to Coach Prime, he’s probably going to use it.
The former NFL cornerback was on ‘The Dan Patrick Show’ this week when he was asked whether he’d consider coaching in the NFL if it meant going as part of a package deal with his sons, Shedeur and Shilo.
“They’re gonna come out the same year, next year. They better not try to leave Daddy this year, by the way,” he quipped after rejecting the notion of a coaching career in the pros.
This should be music to the ears of Buffs fans. Despite the rough period they’ve endured since going 3-0, Sanders has proven to be one of the best QBs around. He’s thrown for 2,882 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just three interceptions in his nine outings for CU. Just imagine what he would be able to do with a better offensive line.
Shilo has also been a great addition to the program, having registered 48 tackles (40 solo), two forced fumbles, and an interception.
